Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard is a generator and receiver of MIDI events. VMPK has been tested in Linux, Windows and Mac OSX, but you may be able to build it in other systems too. To do this, connect the other MIDI port to the input port of VMPK.
You can use the virtual MIDI piano keyboard to display the MIDI notes played from another instrument or MIDI file player. You can use the computer keyboard to play MIDI notes, as well as the mouse. It does not produce sound itself, but can be used to control a MIDI synthesizer (hardware or software, internal or external).
